What Did Bristol Palin Learn about Sex from Her Mother?

Bristol PalinThere’s been a lot of talk about Bristol Palin, the pregnant, 17-year-old daughter of Republican vice-presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Parents play an important role in teaching their children about sex. What did Bristol Palin learn about sex from her mother?

First, you have to know a little bit about where Sarah Palin stands on the issues. She is anti-choice, even in cases of rape or incest. She’s also anti-comprehensive sex ed and wants abstinence-only-until-marriage programs in schools, which means information about condoms and birth control wouldn’t be taught.

Did Sarah talk to Bristol about using condoms to protect herself from pregnancy and STDs? Or did she only push for abstinence and leave her daughter without important info about condoms that could have prevented a pregnancy?

There’s no way of knowing what Sarah and Bristol talked about, or if they talked about sex at all! Teens need and deserve honest and accurate information about sex—not only from comprehensive sex ed classes and resources like Sexetc.org, but from parents as well. Parents really do matter when it comes to learning about sex, so make sure you talk to them!

Maybe the conversations about SEX between a mother and daughter is NONE OF SEXETC’s BUSINESS!!

Maybe she was. Haven’t we all known lots of people who practiced safe sex and got pregnant anyway? ITS NOT 100%!

But we do know one thing: Her baby wasn’t murdered by an abortion.

On what they talked about I doubt the world will ever know, But I bet its more than likely some key information was left out. I feel McCain just shot himself in the foot by picking her. But its unrelated. The fact shes Anti-Choice and Pro-abstinence, with McCain being 72 If he gets elected, the next generation is most likely screwed screwed. =/

What I want to know is, What’s Bristol’s thoughts. Did she actually want to keep the baby or was that forced on her? Is she actually going to care for the child or is it going be left with a bavysitter/nanny person for the first few years of its life?

Bristol is a prime example of why Sarah Palin’s anti-sex ed doesn’t work. Some kids are going to have sex no matter what, so they might as well have all the facts.

sarah, anti-sex ed doesn’t work. it;ll only spark more curiousity and teen pregnancies.

you see, it’s people like this that have made me for obama. at least he know’s what he’s doing.

(If she diden’t want to be in the media her mother never should have accepted the VP nomination. SexETC’s has the right to report any factual truths about her under the first amendment, we might has well use it while we can. =/)

Maybe she was. Haven’t we all known lots of people who practiced safe sex and got pregnant anyway? ITS NOT 100%!

(And yet Sarah would rather schools not teach anything related to safe sex, only that having sex before marriage is bad for you. I have a hard time believing that if she wants the American public to do without this information, she would willingly give it to her own daughter. Hasn’t it already been proven satisfactory that Abstinence-Only isn’t working?)

But we do know one thing: Her baby wasn’t murdered by an abortion.

(Because Bristol wanted to keep it?, or because Sarah wouldn’t let her? Due to the bad media attention/She personally thinks its wrong, thus completely disregarding Bristols opinion? Thats what I want to know. Granted I’ll probably never find out but…)

THis is a really sad situation because the world will never know if it was Bristols choice to keep her baby or not. The thing about anti abortion is, thousands of babies are born from parents who do not want to or do not have the means to take care of them. The results can be shaken baby syndrome, abuse, etc.. I beleive that sex ed need to be taught in schools, so that when parents dont do adequate jobs at explaining, at least kids have a chance to have safe sex. There is a girl at my school where sex ed is not taught, and she doesnt know what sex is or its consequences, and she just got a boyfriend who is much older and more experienced than her. Now what do you think is going to happen?
