"Why doesn't anyone else want to talk about it...?"

No one in my family dares to talk about the s.. word. I always wondered why. My mother always told me that those kinds of things were not descent. All the information that I know about sex comes from this website, books, and friends who just love to talk about it. My father even though he says that he will tell you anything straight forward, has not done so for this topic. I guess they think that if they talk to us about it, it will make us horny or interested in the topic and try to find out personaly about it. 

There was one time where a friend of mine told me to watch this channel, (I was quite naive in those days!) and I did.  I turned out to be a porno channel and I had told my mom that I was up waiting to see some cartoons. It was like eleven at night. When my mom saw the channel she asked who had told me about this channel and I answered by saying that a friend of mine had told me that they showed nasty stuff and I thought that he had meant cartoons. I was so lost and confused! My parents told me not to hang out with that "friend" anymore because it was not good. But that was it, they never explained to me that there were channels that showed that kind of stuff.

Once when I was trying to talk to my mom about this topic she made up an excuse that she had to go to the store and buy food for tomorrow. And there was another time when she didn't hear me out and just said "whatever you do, just don't get pregnant because that will just mess you up completely!"

And there you have it, my family for some reason is uncomfortable with this kind of talk. I wish that they weren't because I could have stopped myself from doing some of the stupidest things, like losing my virginity to some jerk out there, and much more. Why do some people have to feel weird about this topic when it is a completely natural thing?
