It seems since about the 4th or 5th grade they've give my school small sex education group sessions. In those sessions they would divide the girls and the boys and teach them only about there parts and there health. I don't know about other people but why isn't there a decent sex education program in schools anymore?
Recently I found out a girl I've known for about 5 years is pregnant. She didn't know anything about sex education and I blame it on my school and her religion. She had no knowledge that the "pull-out method" didn't work, so she didn't use condoms and thought that was OK. My friend Chelsea told her all the things that she needed to know and even gave her a book fro Gurl.com, and refrences to the nearest abortion clinic.
Stories like this frustrate me so much because todays public school don't teach any sex education. What's a little education besides math and language arts? It seems most schools focus on SPORTS and BAND than they do any type of thing that we might really need in the real world.
No offense to people who likes sports and such, there is just so much more we need to know other than dribbling a bloody ball or playing a trumpet. I think more people should be aware of all the dangers and risks of sex in teenagers and I think they should be prepared to face them if they choose to become sexually active.
