Every since I can remember, teen pregancy as been an taboo issue. Is it that difficult to sit down & talk to your son or daughter about teens & pregancy?.... Its just so astionishing that society can talk to us about drugs, guns and relationships, but when sex & pregancy come together, no one wants to be the first to speak. I can relate to this issue very closely because I am a single teen parent. I became pregnant at the age of 13 and had my baby when I was 14. No one spoke to me intensly about having unprotected sex and one of the major consequences besides STDs and contrating HIV, was becoming preganant. Since 2004, teen pregancy as become an epidemic. Its no longer becoming an issue we can look over or even pretend never happens. Because it does. It baffles me how when a teenager brings this issue up, we are told to don't concern ourselves with such matters or my favorite, "Don't worry, that'll never happen to you." Yea, they said war wouldn't happened, but it does. I just want that people, young and old, become aware of teen pregancy and how it affects everyone, not just the teen mother and/or father.
