Question: Am I the only one who wants to talk about Abortion?
I have attended Private schools all my life. I am currently attending an all girl private high school in Illinois. Going to a private school means you are required to take theology courses each year. Every year so far the topic of abortion has always been one that has brought up a lot of controversy, usually between the girls who are pro-choice and the girls who are pro-life. Most of the time, the theology teachers I've had try not to bring the topic up, due to all the arguing that goes on. This really bothers me, why wouldn't they want us to get both opinions of the issue? Not just the 'don't have abotions, don't have sex' lecture we usually receive. It has made me trying to decide how I feel about the subject very difficult. I have been tying to listen to both sides of the argument, but the teacher always ends the discussion before I can really make a decision on my own. I have had to do my own research on the issue of abotion, even picking it as the topic for my theology project last year. I have finally made my decision on the issue, I have decided to be pro-life. Why? No offense to anyone who is pro-choice, I respect your opinion and see where you are coming from, but pro-life just makes more sense to me. I based my opinion on the information I have looked up on how abortions are done, and the different kinds of abortion procedures, and it is so sad how they do it. I just wish that schools gave us more information to base our opioions off of. I want to be able to form my own opinions, not just be told what to believe from my teachers. I want to talk about abortion, because of this I Am Taboo.
