Am I still a virgin if I…?
Many people want to know if they’re still virgins after they have done this or that. But the truth is different people define virginity in different ways. The traditional definition is someone who hasn’t had vaginal intercourse, but that leaves out other types of sex that can carry the same risk for STDs so each person has to decide how they define the word. The important thing is to stay true to yourself. That means taking your time to make decisions about sex that are best for you – not anyone else. Base these decisions on your own beliefs, values and feelings.
Try to worry less about labeling and more about what’s important to you. If there are sexual things you don’t want to do until you’re older, or when you’re in a certain kind of relationship, or when you’re partnered with someone for life, those can help you determine how you define ‘virgin’.
