The majority of teens at Sex, Etc. said that both females and males look "smart" when they carry a condom on a date!  We ran some polls about this question on our Sexetc.org. Here are the results:

 
Over 2,200 readers took our poll on guys who carry condoms on a date, and this is what they thought:

• 38 percent of our readers said they think he looks "smart and prepared."
• 30 percent said that they thought he looked like he was "expecting to have sex."
• 25 percent of readers said they think he looks like a player.
• 7 percent through he looked like he was trying to look cool.

The next week over 2,600 readers took our poll on when a girl carries a condom on a date and this is what they thought:

• 54 percent of readers said that she looks "prepared for anything, and smart, too!"
• 31 percent said they think she looks "definitely willing to have sex."
• 10 percent said they think she looks like a slut.
• 5 percent said that she looks like she's trying to be cool.

As you can see, not everyone is letting go of old stereotypes about what a girl or guy looks like when they carry a condom. You can avoid misunderstandings by talking about protection openly and spending time getting to know each other first.

You can also encourage others to carry condoms (and soon there'll be a condom revolution!) Here are some cool ways to carry a condom:

• Just for one night you can carry a condom in your wallet or purse (all the other nights, store condoms in a cool dry place).
• Buy a cool condom case to safely carry condoms
• Buy a cute key chain to safely carry condoms
