Is masturbation wrong? Are their any risks?

Some people and some religions teach children that it is wrong to masturbate. In some families, children are told it’s “dirty” to touch themselves “down there” and that, if they do, bad things will happen to them. But, there is no medical or scientific evidence to back this up.

There are no known risks to masturbating, emotional or physical. But, if you’ve been taught that masturbation is bad, you might feel guilty if you do it. Some would consider this an emotional or mental health risk. It really is a personal choice.

Great question! Check out our FAQ How do people masturbate
under the FAQ's about sex for additional information. Also,
please be very careful about inserting anything into the
vagina that might be dirty or have sharp edges since the
vagina is a very fragile part of your body.
