The It Gets Better Project Web site features over 5,000 user-created videos that allow young LGBT people to see how love and happiness can be a reality in their futures. Through the Web site, LGBT young people can not only watch videos from celebrities, organizations, activists, politicians and media personalities, but share their stories and get help through the Trevor Project and GLSEN. The site also welcomes straight allies to visit and support their friends and family members.

The Matthew Shepard Foundation was created to honor the memory of Matthew Shepard who was murdered in an anti-gay hate crime in Wyoming in October 1998. The foundation works to replace hate with understanding, compassion and acceptance through its varied educational, outreach and advocacy programs and by continuing to tell Matthew's story. The foundation supports Matthew's Place, an online community and resource center for LGBTQ young people and their allies as well as many other programs to teach the values of respect for all people and acceptance of individual differences.
