Brandie* was 17 when she got pregnant. Her boyfriend dumped her, and she felt totally unprepared to have a child.

She had no idea where to turn. Then her mom found out she was pregnant.
"She was a lot more understanding than I thought she would be," says Brandie, now 19. "I got the abortion. If I would have had to keep the baby, I would have ended up killing myself. I was so afraid, and I just wanted to die. Luckily, my mom understood."
Brandie's from Tennessee where the law requires one parent to give permission for the abortion.
Brandie's mom supported her decision to have an abortion, took her to the clinic and paid for it.
"It helped a lot to know she was behind me the entire way," says Brandie. "Without her, I would have kept being scared and probably hurt myself."
Her mother's reaction really surprised Brandie. She thought for sure her mother would disown her.
"I figured my mom would go off, hate me and never speak to me again because I was such a shame to her," she says. "But she didn't. She helped me."

In my personal opinion, abortion is wrong. There is always
the adoption of putting your baby up for adoption. People
who get abortions she have a medical reason. If you have
sex, whether you are responsible and mature enough or not,
you should be understanding that pregnancy might happen, and
you shouldn't run to abortion as an option. After an
abortion, some women have a hard time getting pregnant when
they feel ready, and most women come to regret it, raped or
not.

I think that all girls should have a choice but they need to
be completly informed of all other decisions and the
consequences of each. If you don't think you can handle a
kid user birth control. Seriously think about the child
instead of yourself.

"If teens are responsible enough to have sex, then they
should know that they should responsible enough to take care
of a child." --- But they AREN'T. Even little 10-12 year old
girls can get pregnant. If pregnancy only happened to women
who were willing and able to become mothers, we wouldn't
need abortion, adoption or birth control. But that is not
reality. In reality, women need abortion rights.

I honestly think that abortions should be illegal as they
used to be. If teens are responsible enough to have sex,
then they should know that they should responsible enough to
take care of a child. There's an effect for each action we
make, pregnancy is one of them. There shouldn't be an easy
way to forget that we have conciquences.

I got pregnant at 15 now I'm 16 and I'm still carrying the
little babe! I talked to my family, it's my choice to give
my baby life, they couldn't take that away. I'm so happy I
didn't take baby's life, what kind of mommy would that be?
Of course I was scared, but I got to see sonograms, hear the
heartbeat! I'm doing great! If a girl was raped why take the
life of her babe? how about adoption?she'd give her baby
life but a better life than she could provide. The best
things in life are unexpeted!
