I would TOTALLY try this method with my boyfriend... I am
afraid of pregnancy!!! We use condoms, but after hearing
that story about the girl, the condom, and the ob-gyn, I'm
not too secure... :)
Answer to Swank's question about cysts and the pill
Posted by: sockfairy19 on Aug 20th, 2007 12:29am
Both my mother and my sister have ovarian cysts and they
were PUT ON the pill to help get rid of and control them. I
highly doubt the the pill is what's causing your cysts. If
your mom still has worries about it just go to the doctor
and bring her with you and ask the doctor about it.
Hmm...

I was previously on birth control for my period, and my
doctor said I could skip periods if I wanted to, so that was
what I did. I had my period 4 times a year. I stopped
because my pills were causing me to gain weight.
I also
have small cysts on my ovaries. My mother was concerned that
the pills were causing my cysts in general, but specifically
that skipping periods were a cause. Is there any connection
between birth control and ovarian cysts?
well um yea

I'm sure that the pill isn't that bad for you, but I still
get a bad feeling about screwing with my body that way...
Well, still...

I would think if you were 14 your mother would prefer that
you be safe instead of pregnant.
umm

Infertile?
Posted by: StacieS on Jan 26th, 2007 5:23pm
I have never seen any research that says the Pill can make
you infertile. I think you heard a lie or a myth. All of the
birth control pills can be stopped at any time a woman wants
to be pregnant. It usually takes about one to three months
for your period to return to the cycle you had before taking
the pill and for your fertility to begin again. See this
link for more information:

Remember...this is a way to reduce your risk of unwanted
pregnancy, not a way to reduce your risk of STDs. Condoms
should still be used to help reduce the risk of STDs and
will act as a second level of protection against unwanted
pregnancy. Only abstinence will keep you 100% safe from
both STDs and pregnancy.
