Just Like You Imagined?

Three couples make decisions that will make or break them.  A glimpse into the lives of six young people dealing with the pressures of dating and relationships, Just Like You Imagined? deals with HIV, pregnancy, homosexuality, communication, self-awareness, compassion and taking responsibility.  A great sneak peek into the reality of sex when you are a teen!

About the Writer

Verena Faden, 18
“I titled my film Just Like You Imagined? because sex as a teenager is nothing like you’ve seen on TV or in a magazine or even in the old fashioned 70’s sex ed films.  As high school students, we were misinformed or, worse, not informed at all.” —Verena Faden, 18

Eighteen-year-old Verena Faden, of Miami, FL, wanted to write a story that told the truth about what teenagers deal with in relationships and, at the same time, made teens aware that their everyday choices may affect the rest of their lives. Her inspiration for the story came after an HIV/AIDS instructor told her drama class that the HIV virus can be transmitted through oral sex. Bam. That would be the start of her story.

Just Like You Imagined? was written by Faden and directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Band of Brothers, Sex in the City).
