"The only thing or person that can hold you back is yourself."The quote is so true. I believe that we make our own decisions and blame other people and make excuses for ourselves too much. Own up to your actions and what you do. You can make yourself the best person you can be or you can make yourself the worst. It is your choice.
My Experience with sex ed...

I get my information about sex from:

FriendsParent(s), guardian(s)Other family members
Internet

Please tell us where else you get information about sex.

I mostly do my own research and credible sites. Scarleteen, GURL, and other sites. Google bar works, just so long as the site seems credible.

In one sentence, tell us what your first time talking with your parent(s)/guardian(s) about sex was like? Who started the conversation?

I have never had the true "sex talk" with my padres. My mother has realized that I love to research sex education and information and that it is an interest of mine. It would have been nice to talk about it with her, but I think I have done a good job educating myself so far...and I think she knows that too. But there is always room for more knowledge. And don't get me started on my father. I don't mention the word sex around him.

What do YOU think sex ed classes for teens should talk about? What was covered in your sex ed class? What do you wish was covered in your sex ed class?

WAS covered in my sex ed: SHOULD BE covered in my sex ed:

• Menstruation • Pregnancy options • Abstinence • STDs • How to figure out if your relationship is healthy or not • Rape and sexual assault

• Masturbation • Menstruation • Wet dreams • Different kinds of sex • Issues faced by gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, or questioning people • How to figure out your sexual feelings for someone of your same gender • Fingering and hand jobs • Pregnancy options • Abstinence • STDs • How to talk to your partner about sex • How to decide if you're ready for sex • How to talk to your parents about sex • How to talk to your partner about birth control or safer sex • How to figure out if your relationship is healthy or not • How to manage online flirting and dating • Rape and sexual assault • How to know if your body is developing in a normal way • How to find a clinic

The most important...
It is NATURAL and ENJOYABLE and there are SAFE methods. There is no reason why teens should feel ashamed about it or guilty. Sex is apart of human nature your body naturally triggers these wants and emotions. There are so many options in the world of sex not just vagina taking in penis. There is masturbation, oral, mutual masturbation, dry humping etc. There are so many words out there, gay straight, bi, pan. We are all humans and we all have different likes and dislikes. No one likes anything just as much as someone else. As a great person once said "I will ignore the tags and names given to me by society..." just be you! Embrace it love it and make is apart of yourself.

Do you have a story that you think should be on Sex, Etc. because it would help other teens? Write it here, and you and your story may be featured on the Web site.

Masturbation, masturbation, masturbation. What a wonderful thing it is, and the safest sex of all. I think I have been masturbating since I was 4. I did it every night, it just felt natural. Then at a certain point I began feeling guilty about it. I thought I was the only person then the only female in the world that did it. So every night after I climaxed I would roll over and feel stricken with guilt. I thought I was so stupid for what I was doing and that I should have a man doing this and no man would want a girl who did that.
Then I began my research I became fascinated with it. I discovered that tons of girls did it and that it was natural and not unhealthy that I began at such a young age. I totally embraced the idea and fact and orgasmed my way to many good nights of rest.

If Sex, Etc. gave you $1,000 dollars to help teens get access to honest, medically accurate and balanced information about human sexuality and to help teens make responsible choices about sexual health, what would YOU do?

I would start an organization in my school or better yet in my community that was for sexual health and sexuality. Teen pregnancy has been rising in my school and I have over heard conversations where what they say is just plain wrong. I want everyone to know and understand their body and feel 100% comfortable with themselves. I would ask doctors to give lectures and I would provide information to the masses. Maybe I would just flat out pay teens with the money to come and hear and receive knowledge on the topic of sex and sexuality. I want all to learn and embrace.
